hi! i have nearly finished my training to become a nail technician :D and i would like to move on from college kit stuff and purchase some really good products to use from now on, ive done a lot of research on the internet, looking at different brands ect but dont know which one is best..

im currently using star nails, salon systems and profile products for nail enchancements which is ok but i feel like i cant go any further which these products. i do all nail systems. i really dont know which the best brand to go for? bio sculpture, cnd, opi....ect?

i know that you have to train for these makes aswell.
what products do you use? which is the best company?

any advice will be greatly appreciated! thank you xxxxx

LouLou, there is no "best" product. Different nail tech's will all give a different answer, and pretty much all manufacturers will say theirs is "best".

There ARE good products and good companies. There are also less good. But really you are asking the wrong question - what you should be looking for is the company that can offer excellent education. If the company doesn't offer that, then their products and support is not likely to be much good either.

When you are more experienced, then perhaps you can test a variety of products to find what suits you. Most likely, you will end up using a variety of manufacturers products. Until then, you really need good support and a company that can help you develop your skills beyond the average.

Hi Loulou

Well it depends on what system you use, is it l & p, gel, fibreglass or silk. I love the CND range, it is very popular, love the l & p and gel and there training is very good. I have also tried the NSI range and they are also very good. Try doing a search on here and Im sure you will find what you are looking for. The systems that you have used personally in my opionion are very low range and will not give you what you want, these are ok if you are just practicing but if you want to keep your clients then you will need to change to a decent product, that will last. And training in the product that you use is definately worth every penny. I done a creative conversion course and have since done a one to one training course which was excellent, the love the l & p powder colours and feel IMO that these are the best. However for the gel I like the Brisa range and the NSI range, why dont you get a trial kit and have a practice and see how you feel. Hope that this helps. Abi

Gotta agree with Bob! You will see from me a lot "It is not what product works best--it is what product works best for YOU"
Once you have mastered one product with a good company, you can start 'dabbling'. At that time, I suggest going around to all of the manufacturer sites and registering. Once you have done that, you can email them with question about their product and education--most will send you a free sample to try and others will offer a low price trial kit. At least enough for you to try out and see if it is something you want to investigate further.

hi, thank you for your replys :)

ive rang sweet sqaured today to discuss with them about doing conversion course, and they are sending me all the info! im also looking into bio sculpture and opi! just to compare really.

i totally agree its what the product does for me and the best education and support they give, and its really helped hearing it from someone else!

thanks for the advice xxxx

I trained with OPI and use their products for everything, I really enjoyed the training and felt I learnt alot. Love the products too especially the nail polishes :D
