Hi Geeks, I have a new client who wants her root re growth bleached , her hair is about 9 and she told me she s been doing it her self so far and using a toner afterwards- i assume just from the supermarkets.

I havent done a root bleach in years scince I was in colllege but because she acheiving a nice colour herself (its not looking orange/very yellow) with just shop products Im hoping proffessional products will be ok??

What is the best toner to use? her natural colour is around 5/6

Any advice on this subject would be greatly appreciated x

What tone does she have at the moment?

Im not to sure, Im not sure she really new either x

I be inclined to use highlight tint? Or low strength bleach then tone x

I ll be using bleach first , as thats what she s already got on/what she wants/ to get the lift but i mean what toner to put over the bleach as she s been using a toner after bleaching her hair :) x

It depends on the lift you get and tone you want to achieve?

What do you want to achieve at the end? Is she a base 5/6 naturally?

Yh her hair is a natural 5/6
Well to match the rest of her hair Id have
To lift it to a 10 as she s quite blonde at the moment
Its like a 10/3 tone wise - she didnt really say she wants a particular
Toner , she just said she uses one - so it would
Probably be to take the warmth out when its first
Been bleached (even thought you cant see any now)
So if that is the case what is the best one? :) x

What about using highlift 12/03 or which ever is closest

I find 10/3 is really yellow so tend to use 10/37

But because its root regrowth not highlight
Wouldnt it come out different if i used high lift
and not match the rest of her hair?
I would much prefer to do h/lights as find it easier
Lol xx

Hi Chantelle I have been using wella for years, it depends on what tones are throwing up once its lifted- if its showing more orange tones I would use 10/8, or if its showing more yellow tones use 9/16. Hope that helps

Thank you Hayley thats perfect :) x

If she's a base9 anyway a high lift should reach lighter than she has with bleach xoxo

She s not a base 9 ? :)

Her base was 5/6 so highlift could be used to get a 9 but depending what tone she wants but to clean blonde and minimum tone I use bleach and 10/8
