White shadowing on clients nails-help

A new client came to get her gel polish done by me. (She used to go to a local salon). She used to have Jessica gel polish. When she showed me her nails. I was like. Omg!!! I use Gelish. I've applied Gelish. And she said that she started having problems when she had her gels. I've never experienced anything like this in all the years I've been doing nails.

Because most of the damage is at the tip I would guess it's where either the previous tech (or client herself) has scraped at the free edge where maybe the product was harder to remove and could have used some more soaking?

Maybe a primer was added to the free edge before application (to prevent chipping in that area) and in turn has made it harder to remove?
