Hey everyone

I am doing alot more nails that i ever used to at the moment and usually when i get people who want the tips to look whits i use white gel and do it that way but ive got someone coming in who wants me to use white tips?

Do any of you use them? if so which look best the ones with a big curve or not such an obvious curve? i mean that as in the curve where you would normally blend!

Hope that makes sense?? sorry long day lol!!

Thanks xx

Creative do some nice white well less tips, they are called performance tips hth

i use creative performance tips but they are not for everyone mainly people with flat nails i think anyway xx

I use pro impression white well less tips they have different ones to choose from as well x

I'm not a fan of white tips, unless you have a client with gorgeous long nail beds to begin with, I dont think they are at all flattering.
When people come to me and ask for white tips I do a pink & white set using liquid & powder. Occasionally, while I'm applying the natural tips the client will say "No, I wanted white", and I explain that the colour will be in the product, not the tip. I've never once done a set and the client complain that they prefer the white tips.

Having said that, I do have white tips in stock, because there;s a time and a place for them. The first is for use with poppits, and secondly, I have one client, actually she;s one of the hairdressers in the salon where I work, and she fits her nails in between her own clients. Sometimes she gives me less than an hour to do her nails, and so white tips are a good speedy option for her (fortuantely she has the type of nailbed that looks pretty good with a white tip)

With your clients who are requesting white tips, I would ask them why they want them. Often they ask for them because they dont know any different, and I often find that you can educate your clients to other options that look much nicer that they didnt even know existed.

i had a client friday who asked for white tips and would not have pink & white as she has had them before and they broke i could't change her mind :( xx

This exact thing happened to me last week. Luckily I do have some white tips on hand.
I explained to her what I usually do but she was adament she wanted tips.
I use CND performance white tips.

It's a difficult subject this, because although you should make sure you are providing the service the client wants, where do you draw the line to stop the client telling you how to do your job? If you know that your pink & white set will be just as strong as any other set of nails, and furthermore they will look better, I think it's wise to find ways to educate your clients to this.

We've all had clients who have had crap nails done elsewhere and so they are deterred from trying the same thing again, but think about it this way: If a client went to a hairdressers and asked for a cut and colour, they would tell the hairdresser what shade they want, what the end result is that they want, and the hairdresser make a professional decision as to what products he/she needs to use to create that look. Would a hairdresser welcome a client saying "Actually, I want you to use the wella colours and I want you to use xx shade instead of xx shade. The hairdresser would explain to the client that for the end result the client needs, xx shade wouldnt work well on their natural colour etc, and would give a professional opinion.

Anyway, I appreciate it's a matter of opinion, but I see so many people who;ve never heard of pink & white because so many techs havent plucked up the courage or the motivation to use it in the salon, and unless we enlighten people to p&w we will be battling with the white tip brigade for years to come! Perhaps next time someone insists on white tips because the think they are stronger, ask them to have just one nail done with pink&white to compare.
