Zone 2 L&P help

You start to apply Zone 2, but the product starts to spread into the walls of nail and cuticle

1. What do you do?

I have a sleepy brain today and cannot seems to get my head around this answer (father been in hospital as is terminal) could any nice person possible just point me in the right direction.
