How can I tone this yellow hair?

yesterday I got a full head of highlights and microbond extensions fitted. My hair is now so yellow compared to beforehand. The highlights on the top were on an almost gingery brown so the top now looks ginger and yellow. Will a purple shampoo work on this? I don't suit yellow tones at all and to be honest it looks dreadful to me.

Purple shampoos can be very drying so they're not intended to be used on blonde extensions as they're already heavily chemically treated.

I'd go back to your hairdresser and ask her to tone the hair but not the extensions.
