I have just started a massive leaflet drop of 5000 have given some to friends and family to put up at work and hand out. I have been round near where i live to post leaflets with the help of my boyfriend but when i looked backminside the box theres still loads.

My question is how many leaflets would you have/had printed? Howlong it takes you to deliver them?
Also there is a very nice big apartment block which is very nice and has penthouse suits and things but i odnt know where their letter boxes would be as you have to be buzzed into the building. Will they have an area as surely the post man and deliveries dont have to be buzzed into the building daily.

Do you tend to do estates or rows of houses?
Finally do you hit the big houses where you would expect the money to be? Ih ave oads more to go.

I think 5000 is probably the best value for money. It is loads though. I am mobile and printed of a map of my local area and highlight on it where I have delivered. I will eventually do everywhere, however I don't think that big houses are where the money is (having grown up in a big house I know we never had any spare cash, something to do with six kids i think hehe) so I never deliver only to one type of house. I tend to break the leaflet drops down to about 200 at a time or else I think I would lose the will to live . Good luck just do it bite sizes.

Ye i see where you are coming from. I mean we only did our estate today and was so supreised at how big it is i never realised. Got another full day to do tomorrow before work on monday. I really want to get as many out at as soon as possible i think but i have given chunks to friends and family to hand out at work and to their friends. I am also saving some for goody bags for afew pamper parties im doing. Just want to get as many out now to launch myself as im going live tuesday. Altough have done afew clients already.

I think we may drive out to afew nearby places to spread it out a little bit. I dont know why i was getting so nervous about posting things through peoples doors. Do you ever get that?

xx

I blogged a little warning about this earlier but as you've started a thread about leaflet drops, I'll mention it again here... ...

Please, please be careful when putting leaflets thru letterboxes. If you find the leaflet wont go thru easily then don't post it... I was bitten really badly by a dog today, spent the morning in A&E, frightened the life out of me (still shaking 12 hours later), I can hardly use my hand and it hurts like mad ...Thank God for nail enhancements, if I hadn't had mine I may well have lost my finger, as it is I now have no nail on that finger - True, the dog not only ripped off the enhancement, he took my own nail as well and bit my finger too.

Just please take care... I wouldn't want the same thing to happen to anyone else.

OMG, what a fright you must have got, hope it heals well. My brother is a postman and had a bad bite last year through a letter box so I am really cautious when delivering. I hope you reported the dog, I know a lot of people have the box outside now if they have a dog.

Yes I feel kind of weird doing the first few, then think Im doing this for me and get over it. :D

Annie

Oh my god! I never thought about this although i could hear some dogs going crazy when i put them through. I had got my hand stuck for a second or two on the heavy letter boxes. Thanks for the warning i shall be careful. Hope your ok bet that bloody hurts. Like said before i hope you reported the dog.!!!!

xx

I haven 't reported it even though a lot of people have said I should... firstly because I'm not sure where I stand legally - after all I was on their land and they didnt ask for a leaflet to be shoved through the door... but also, they have my leaflet now (assuming the dog didnt swallow it).. I'm a little worried about atagonising anyone and maybe inviting trouble to the salon which is very nearby.

But yes... it was the fright of my life. The dog grabbed my hand and would NOT let go - I kicked and kicked at the door and eventually managed to wrench my hand free.

The really stupid thing is that I have loads more cards to deliver... can't do it at the moment because of the huge dressing on my finger... but I know I'm going to be afraid to do it again when the time comes.

Exactly, how many people put things through my letter box and i dont bat an eyelid. My partner said he felt like he was trespassing lol. I hate it when people are outside when you are delivering i feel very akward. Apart from if its ladies who you can tell would be interested in that kind of thing. xx

It is funny delivering them, my husband chats to everyone whose outside when delivering them, doesn't bother him at all, were as I get a bit shy :o

Good luck with your delivering.

Does leaflet dropping work? Out of your 200 posted....how many bookings have you had? X
Thanks x Shelley x

Where did you get your 5000 flyers printed?
How much did they cost?
Are you pleased with them?
Single or double sided?
Black & white or colour?
Sorry for all the questions, but its something I am thinking of doing so will be interested in information?

How about getting in touch with your local papers and find out how much they charge to put your flyers in each of their papers?

You could also ask your local paper shop if they would mind if you got in early one morning every now and then and put one flyer inside every paper!
That is no effort for them, costs them nothing, cost you nothing.

Or even go & stand next to the metro man giving out your flyers whilst people go into train stations early in the morning.

Did you do an offer on your flyers like "10% discount on your first treatment when you bring this with you" so you can see how many new clients they bring you?

It has really worked for me, that and word of mouth. I am a new business and I think out of about 2000 I have had about 20 people, which to be honest I think is really good. And most have rebooked for further treatments. I do think its down to area as well though, what works for some doesn't work for everyone. Worth a try though.

Hope the above info is of help. There are many geeks on here that have used other printers and really pleased with them too.

Thank you, I am still really nervous about how well things are going so early, but I only work part time and I don't know of any other mobile therapist in the area (though there are lots of salons). There is a thread on here by Lynne Baker called 'more ways to promote your business' which is great well worth having a look. Good luck to you too. :D

i got 5000 A6 double sided full colour leaflets from bimbo design. I am very pleased with them. They were £55 for the print but Lynsey designed them for me that £45 and its free delivery. They are excellent she has also printed my price lists and my business cards which i should have next week. Highly recommend them. Xx
