Acrylic cracking on NNO

I'm having to keep my nails very very short at the moment but have applied a glitter pink l&p overlay to pretty them up a bit. After about a week though, I've started to get some cracking at the free edge - no lifting, just cracking - especially at the side corners. Could this be because the acrylic was applied too thickly? I really struggled to get thin layers (one clear, one glitter, another clear) especially on my 'wrong' hand. I haven't had this problem with any clients, just myself.

Any advice appreciated.

Yes if it is too thick it will cause it to crack
