hi, a few months ago I posted about getting braces, and I've finally been for my consultation and it going to cost £4000!!!! I just wondering if this is average for braces? I'm having ceramic on the upper and metal on the lower any thoughts?

My daughters at 16 (3 years ago) privately were £2,800 plus retainers, she had the clear plastic

Beautiful results though :)

Mine were £2800 for the 6 month smiles one which are clear train tracks. Best money I've ever spent x

I think it ussually depends on the teeth and the severity.

I was quoted about £3500 minimum for both arches through a specialist.. Although I really wanted oral sedation (massive dental phobia) but I couldn't even cope getting X-rays taken. I agree with what the others have said though, it's not like you can go wrong with the results! X

Hi, I went through Groupon, via recommendation. I paid £1,400 for top and bottom arches, that also included a tooth extraction and composite on the front 4 teeth to protect my enamel. They are annoying but its worth the commitment, I have had mine for a year, the bottom are straight just waiting for the top to be corrected fully.

To note...I have the clear braces
