Hey geeks,

I'm trying to get with it & sort out a business profile on Facebook. Is it best to have a 'group' or a 'page'? What are the pros & cons of each?

Hi i would do both x, I am in the middle of setting mine x

Hi do now how to set the page up, as ive been trying to and it keeps blocking me.

Cheers

I did a fan page. Can't exactly remember how I did it but I googled it first.

With the fan page whenever you add photos or write on the wall it appears on the news feed for all members. With a group you have to mail them.

Ah, that is where I went wrong :smack:, I made a group and then wondered why my wall posts weren't showing on members walls.
If you can remember how to do the fan page please let me know

Oh, good idea putting your website as your status. I might just copy that.

Brilliant idea about using the website as a status xxx

I haven't made it any bigger. Thats the size it's set to as it's saved on my computer. Think it just depends on what size you have the original document. Try making the original document bigger and then adding it. Whats the link to yours and i'll check it out

Havn't made mine public yet, I think mine is actually the same size, maybe just coz mines black it looks slimmer lol x

I had some drama trying to create a Facebook page under a business name & I ended up going with part of the business name only which has actually worked out well.

It's been a while since I initially set my page up but if I recall, setting up a group page with fans is easier when it comes to putting your business name down. You can also create a Facebook page under your real name but have a group page attached with your business name.

I think another key difference is under a group you and your fans can have discussions, where as you cannot do this on a Facebook page.
The other difference is under a group you have fans, under a page you have friends.
