Hi Ladies

I have just hit 40 and would like to treat myself to some really good eye cream as I have just started get a few little wrinkles. I would love your advice as to what you think would be the best buy for somebody of my age and will also delay the onset of the wrinkles getting any worse and if it can help with reducing black bags aswell, that would be a bonus!

Price isn't to much of issue if the product is good.

Thanks

Environ C-Quence Eye Gel! It has a similar effect to Botox on the skin but without the nasties in it!! I'm waiting very impatiently to get mine and you can ue on other areas which how aging like around the mouth too.

Hi Pure

Thanks for this. Does the cream delay the signs of aging or just puff out the wrinkles you already have?

Thanks for the recommendation, I would really like to try Environ but finding it hard to find out where my nearest consultant would be.

I am not really a big fan of eye creams but I would suggest trying Eyeslices. I saw them in Redbook a while back and they work really well. Heres some info on them from the site:

has instant cooling sensation without a fridge!
thermo-gymnastics effect on the skin stimulating circulation are re-usable up to 10 times.
have a natural & non-toxic manufacturing process.
offer a soothing sensation & comfort of use.

They relieve dark circles, fine lines, irritations, puffiness, and redness

They are also nontoxic!

Hi There,

Epicuren is new over here and comes straight form the Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons of Hollywood. It works by using live metadermabolic enzymes to retard ageing and is the only one of its kind in the world. Results can be seen in 6 - 10 months. Finally something that works and is only advertised by word of mouth from celebs because of the outstanding results!
Good luck!

It will actually turn back the clock by reducing existing lines and promoting the production of collagen and elastin thereby preventing further lines!
Try contacting the IIAA and they can give you more information and find your local salon too.

Thanks Ladies

I will be looking in to the products you have kindly recommended.

Seriously - the best anti ageing cream you can buy is an SPF - anything else - you may as well burn your money!

Botox - no nasties in it! Did you know botox is used in the NHS for therapeutic use and has been for over 30 years in far, far higher doses than cosmetic doses. Particularly in children with cerebral palsy. I don't think we would be injecting it into children in such high doses if it wasn't safe. IN THE RIGHT HANDS - thats the important factor.

The epidermis is there to prevent anything penetrating the dermis - the dermis is where your collagen/elastic etc is produced (where wrinkles are formed) - no cream is going to work at dermal level. Think about it - as a prevention an SPF is the best investment.

SPF is a preventative, the best one there is but damage will have been caused years ago and any SPF won't get rid of your existing lines & wrinkles!

On a very personal level I wouldn't want to use Botox on my skin!

The cream I mentioned (Environ's C_Quence Eye Gel) contains peptides which have been scientifically PROVEN to be effective in reducing wrinkles and fine lines because they stimulate the DNA of the fibroblasts in the skin to create collagen and it builds up more elastin fibres in the dermis.

Don't just take my word for this - this is the result of more than 20 years of research and production and Environ are not the only skincare to use this method either.

Modern skincare and science have moved on so much in recent years and working together they CAN acheive spectacular result.

NOTHING topical will get rid of wrinkles! No cream in the world - Prevention is the key - in the form of SPF - dont take my word for it - this is a widely accepted medical fact, backed up by medical research.

When quoting research - it is important to look at the validity of that research. Many products which quote research to back up their claims are in fact their own companies - not credible. Such as "the international dermal institute" to name one of many. I prefer to base my practice on credible sources, backed up by the medical industry. That is why I quote what I quote.

Whether someone wishes to have botox or not - of course is entirely personal preference - but I am concerned about accuracy. I give my patients the information based on evidence based practice.

It is not a personal thing, there is no need to be defensive. But I can tell you with great assurance - no eye cream in the world will eliminate wrinkles - FACT.

I wasn't aware anyone had said a cream would get rid of wrinkles, rather it was suggested they can reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this subject. I shall look in to Environ as I have heard some great comments about there skincare.

Jackie :)
