hi,
I've had a lady msg me enquiring about extensions, her hair is quite short, shorter than anyone I've ever done before. I'm not too keen on taking it on as I feel it may be too short for me to make the extensions look natural, blend well. She only wants them shoulder length,
What would you do?
I once did a lady's hair whos hair was shoulder length with really short layers and I hated the result, i couldn't blend it well enough to look natural.
This is the lady's hair who had enquired
Thanks in advance xx

Nope, too short! Your gut reaction is right in my opinion, it won't blend and look natural. There are other things u could do though, u could suggest extensions at the front maybe and create perhaps a sweeping fringe if she fancies a change? Anyway she will appreciate your honesty rather than taking her money and it looking rubbish!

I agree with the above, if you can't be confident in the end result than don't put it on yourself to try to make them happy. She's asking for a lot and it won't blend properly. Offer fringe or something that makes it look asymetrical.

Agree with the above.. it will end up to be a mullet! Unless that's the desired look she's going for I wouldn't attempt it.
I like the idea of a sweeping side fringe though, that could work x

So glad I've seen this !

I've had a potential client ask me this week for a consultation and she has very short bobbed hair.

I was worried I wouldn't be able to make a desision.

X

@tawnsta does loads of very short transformations. They're all amazing! Maybe eend her a message for advice?

Don't do it. I've looked at the threads above and at the risk of offending anyone, they're awful. You can clearly see the clients natural hair, curling it to hide the flaws is unprofessional and amateur. I've specialised in tailor made hair extensions for more than 13 years and I wouldn't put myself through the stress.

Fair enough. I don't think it's unprofessional at all if you've explained to the client that styling will be tricky and they will need to curl it as their hair grows, or braid the short in with the long along the top etc. I think many of those transformations are great but we're all different and if the client isn't going to style it or the tech is unsure how to do it then yes, best avoided.

Would someone have grounds to sue you if they wasn't happy with the final result ?

I don't like to turn the business away but then again I definitely don't want go fit something and then the client not be happy. X

I think if you're that worried go with your gut and don't do it. You can turn her away with good solid advice and tell her to get in touch once her hair is a certain length. She may come back to you as you were so honest and didn't just do something for the money x

You're clearly not confident, trust your instinct. You should be more concerned about building a good reputation than turning away business.
