Hi geeks

I was wondering about your experiences with airbrush make-up: which brands do you recommend and how you find it rates against "normal" make-up for weddings etc.

Are brides clued up on it, or are they initially a little wary of having their make-up sprayed on? When you work in this industry I find it's sometimes easy to forget what's "normal" for us compared to what's "normal" for clients!

Thanks for any input
x

most definately for me airbase it lasts so well is hd perfect the training is excellent and its used by so many celebrity make up artists including the gemma kidd make up school ,dancing on ice ,this morning etc check it out i love it

Fab - thanks for the feedback. I've seen they've got a starter kit and I have to say I am tempted!x

hiya... i trained with airbase and it is fab... only i also use graftobian - and dinair which is waterbased some people cant get away with the silicone base in some products so always chec whats in them i love it HD is the way to go ,, have a look at my photos :D

Thanks Spoilt - your photos are fab! Do you do hair styling too? I'm starting to find that I'd get more work with photographers if I also did hair so I've booked on a styling course for July. I'm looking forward to it and have dabbled a bit, but right now the thought of doing a bride's hair on her big day fills me with dread! x

 i did a day training on hair ups with sallys!!! ermm i know how to do a back comb and barell roll and a messy bun..... but to tell the truth. brides,,, i talk out of having a full updo unless i know they look stunning..... im not confident. the photos on here we have a hairdresser come in lol.. ive watched and learnt bits... much better than the course. id sugest
going into a local salon and asking if there head putter upper would come to you and ask her if she take £50 for a few hrs!!! 1 to 1 xx thats my next step:idea: xx also have a look on PAM , Makeup artists provisions discount to mua on some products. xx:lol: they have travel size in kett which is fab and just need about 7 drops for a full face xx Elisa

Well you've inspired me! I was checking out Airbase and saw they have a training course in London this Saturday and I've just booked on! V excited.

Do they give you access to logos/marketing material etc to help you promote the service? My website's being built at the mo and I'll want to push it! Also do they give you advice re pricing, as I'm assuming an airbrush make-up service would be priced higher than traditional? x

i charge £45 for a makeover £65 for bride with trial...£12 for the base before a night out .. it just gives you an edge to everyone else, after the outlay. its cheaper than regular foundation also check ebay sometimes dinair and temtu sample size are sold... even the tester size lasts ages and just use different colour drops to mix the perfect match x PS ..... I AM IN THE NORTH EAST ENGLAND THO LOL. PRICES DIFFER LOADS

Hi! Did the training on Sat and have my kit. Just got to start practicing! Was definitely impressed and they said they're bringing out two more shades next month - one really light and one really dark. Looking forward to having a play with it! x

Hi I have just invested in the airbase kit and the training after reading all your threads, I think you are the best person to ask if you don't mind before my training in October. I havent actually opened the kit yet. But I would like to have a dable before the training:-

What power level do I have the compressor on when I am spraying? and how far away from my clients face? Also how do I know if my clients can't the silicone in the foundation, lastly any tips, that helped you on your way.

Hope you can help,

Dawn
