Hi I trained in waxing and sugaring last week and like the sugaring best. I have cold sugar but the Alexandria product is a warm sugar. The bottle of sugar was warmed in what looked like a baby's bottle warmer but the college were selling them for over £90.00!!! Does anyone use this sugar and how do you warm yours? We were told we could warm it in a microwave but then when it starts to cool down you would have to keep going to the microwave, not very convenient.

Also does anyone use the Alexandria cold sugaring? I was taught cold sugaring and got basic sugar in my kit but if I wanted the alexandria sugar which you can use on 2mm of hair I would have to do further training. I have looked on youtube ans the technique is exactly the same as I was taught, or it appears to be.

I did search, I know I should have done that first but sometimes there may be people who haven't contributed to a previous thread who might to another one.

If your strip sugar paste comes in a 500g pot you can buy a small hive heater and use that to warm up your paste. If it an 800g pot buy a large 1000cc hive heater or any 1000cc heater and use that for your paste.

I do both traditional hand sugaring and strip sugaring for those clients that want it.

errr I'm new to this waxing/sugaring lark. Can I use the pot that my warm wax comes in? Can I just put the bottle of kiss wax in it?

I did my Alexandria Sugaring training with The Carlton Institute, and they sell all of the Alexandria kit - have a word with them about it, they ate very helpful

Hi, yes I did the sugaring course with Carlton too. They taught us the cold sugar (their own) and the warm Alexandria sugaring. Its the warm one that I need a warming pot for but they charge £90.00 and if I want to buy the Alexandria cold sugar I have to do further training with them which is about £300.00 and then there is the kit on top of that.

Was the 2 day course really worth it and did you actually learn anything new?

Hi Lorraine

I found the 2 day course very useful = but there again, I have never done any sugaring at all before that. I have waxed for a few years, but people had been asking me about sugaring.

The application and technique for the Alexandria sugaring was totally different to waxing - so, for me it was worth it

Not sure if this helps?

Terry
