ive tried, and ive done it! but after filing, its still too thick to wear.
id love to hear some tips, too!
:)

These are really the only threads and real tutorials on aqua nails that I've been able to find. In one of the threads there are instructions. Sadly the only tourorial I've been able to find is in another language :(
How ever I have a suggestion, maybe you could try building up your connecting walls between the two tips to be higher if you sparkles are not moving at all or lower if they move but then get stuck slanted within the nail.
Just an idea.

Translation for the tutorial:

1. Firstly shorten two clear tips to the same length. Apply a little "wall" with clear thick viscosity gel to the tip. Leave one side open. Hold the tip under the UV light with some tweezers. Buff the little wall smooth and apply nail glue

2. Apply the other tip to the glued tip holding it with a pair of tweezers. Press to create a gap underneath.

3. Apply gel again to all three sides to ensure that there are no gaps in your seems. Hold under your UV light.

4. Fill your tip. Here pink flowers, glitter and mini pearls were used.

5. Fill the tip with water. It's best with a syringe but I have used a spatula here. I left a little air in the tip as I liked the effect better (I have tried before and filled it completely with water) Finally close the last side of the tip with gel.

6. Apply the tip to the nail as usual. Unfortunately the tip cannot be filed after applying and is thicker than usual. (Had "water leakage" after filing) Also I didn't find the tip very practical for every day life and removed after one day. Hope you enjoy the tutorial anyway.

Hope that helps.

YouTube- Aqua nails

this one is in english. I doubt you can get them too thin though...... looking at this video they will always be the thickness of a least 3 tips!

I wonder how you would do a full nail....

Yep thats as clear as mud ! I cant wait to have a thick bulky looking nail like that on the end of my hand, I know we dont all have the same ideas on what looks good but each to their own !

I think i agree. The idea seems quite fun but they must look HUGE when you have them on....... and the cant stay on for long can they?? surely all that bulk would make them weak.

hey, I'm glad you agree, I thought it might be handbags at dawn for my comment ! x
