Hi yes I have a 15.3 hairy cob. Never posted on here before always been a lurker but had to talk to another horsey therapist! Am always struggling to keep my hands in good condition for my clients. Horses and beauty is tricky
I currently share a 14.2hh piebald pony, but I have had in the past a 16.2hh TBxID who died at 16, a 14.1 bay fell x who died at 44 and a skewbald cob called Scooby who is still rocking (or should I say bucking) around the countryside somewhere with his new ppl!
Im so glad there are other horsey people here
I know exactly what you mean about keeping your hands looking half decent, its almost impossible!! I dont have the nicest hands anyway so doing horsey stuff doesnt help:lol:
My guy is a hairy cob, he is a piebald. Im just about to move yards, Im on a posh yard at the mo but we are having to down grade to a field with a shelter. I think he is going to be much happier living out, Im hoping less mucking out will help me keep my hands and nails looking a little nicer to.
HI yes i have just today sold my 15.2h chestnut tb mare... lunatic... its true what they say... all chestnut mares are mad!!!!!
i still however have my beautiful "blueby" 16.1h 4 year old french trotter. he is the most gorgeous horse i have ever owned. what do you girls do then? i showjump mainly, but do the odd event.
Im just a happy hacker we have done shows and done really well but I just cant be bothered with it to be honest.
We did a handy pony class at our yard the other day and my guy was petrified of a cardboard fish! needless to say we were a bit rubbish:lol:
I have recently sold my 16.1 warmblood, and I miss him every day:cry: He was just to loony to not be ridden every day, and business just dosent afford me that luxury! It was kinder to pass him on. But, boy I regret it!
Awwwww you poor thing. I know sooo many people who are having to sell thier horses, mainly to finance though. I am in the midst of moving my guy to another yard that is much cheaper than my current one, I think he will like it more as he will be living out ( he isnt keen on being in to much) I will have to travel 12 miles to the new place but there is no where nearer to me that does 24/7 turnout. Im sure it will be fine during the summer, Im just a little concerned about the winter.
If you were nearer I would say you could come and ride my guy but it would be quite a journey for you still, if you are up for it, give me a shout
I think he will be fine living out - it's much easier! Mine is a hairy cob too - they are great. Do you use Cowboy Magic on his feathers it's really good and does help with your hands a bit at the same time! x
