Can anyone help me? I am about to start renting space in my hairdressers to set up a nail business. I will be providing my own desk, chairs, products etc so will really only be using a corner of her room & electricity for my lamps. Neither of us have any idea what rent should be! We are in a small residential town. I know rent will vary from place to place but any help would be useful. I don't want to outprice myself as I don't know how busy I will be straight away but I also don't want to take the p*ss by saying I'll pay too little. Help!

I've just started today renting a space in a hair dressers. & at the moment I'm paying £50 a week & it is going to be reviewed in 4 months time.
I buy all my own stock & the hairdressers take appointments, provide towels, & refreshments for my clients

I pay my rent as a percentage, works out well when you're just starting up as if I don't earn much one week I don't have to worry about finding a set amount for the rent. I only pay 10% but I buy all my own stock, take my own bookings & do the drinks for my clients sometimes too. I also pay for any advertising etc as the hair salon doesn't really do any.

i pay £20 per day (£25 if a late night opening) regardless of what i earn, for a naildesk.

I supply my own stock, towels etc

I only work 3 days a week but if i increased to 5 days i would renegotiate as i feel £110 a week would be too high considering i don't have my own room....
