Base coat on gel?

:?:Some systems seem to teach that when you polish gel enhancements you don't need to apply base coat.
I always apply base coat, two coats of colour and fast drying top coat. Logically thinking, they would dry faster with one coat less. But will the polish be as durable then?
Which way do you geeks work, and why?:?:
 
Base coat anchor's the polish to the nail (natural or enhanced). Applying a base coat also makes the enamel go on much more smoothly and evenly.
 
Base coat is what "anchors" the enamel to your nail, whether it be enhanced or au natural. Think of it as double sided sticky tape, without it you just won't get as great results as WITH ;)
