Hi Nail Geeks,

I'm pretty new to all this so I'll start from the beginning ...

I attended College part time two nights a week studying Nail Treatments (Mani & Pedi), Nail Technology (Extentions incl. Acrylic, Gel, Fibreglass & Silk) & Nail Art (Fine Brushes) & I qualified about 4 years ago.

I only had the bare minimum training as the course only lasted around 9 months & because the class has such a large number (around 25-30 students), I didn't think I had the right training & we were shown "how-to" the once & let loose with our clients (or each other in most cases!!)

I have done nothing with my qualification since the end of my course & would really like to start back up & extend my training. I got "trained" with Salon System & didn't really agree with the acrylic as I couldn't get the liquid/powder mix right each time i dipped & applied. It was either too wet & runny or too dry & "crystalised".

I really enjoy the benefits of acrylic myself & alot of my friends who I speak to either prefer gel or acrylic & none have favoured fibreglass & silk.

IMO I don't favour fibreglass & silk myself as they don't have the same strength as Acrylic.

Anywhoooo *takes breath* ... As I'd like to start back up doing nails i.e. Mani's, Pedi's, Acrylic & Gel, I'd like a proffesional POV on which system they prefer & the end results i.e. strength, application, aftercare, etc please

Big TY to any that reply :D

Oh don't know if this makes any difference but I am from the Staffordshire region so if anyone knows of any training around my area that is highly reccommended I'd be grateful for some info !!

Confused Newbie :Scared:

There is so much information here on the site re different brands that I recommend you do a search using the geek search facility and get some feedback that way. The brands with reputation stand out quite clearly and there is massive amounts of posts recommending products and services. Here's mine:
