Hi!

Just wondered what moisturisers you 'spray tanners' out there recommend to ur clients after they have had a spray tan?
Also Ive heard dove & baby oil can strip a tan but i just wondered apart from certain oils, what other ingredients (in creams, washes ect) should the client avoid?

I myself use a basic epederm cream that I get on prescription & have no problems with that as i think its parafin wax based.

Also (last question I promise!)...

What is a 'affordable tan extender cream to purchase that I can sell on for aftercare? Most that i have seen rrp at £10/ £20 and my clients would not pay that much if they are paying for a fully body for £20 in the first place?

Thanks

i don't recommend any products other than the brand.... I trained with sienna so will only give advice in regards to their moisturisers etc.

That also gives opportunity to retail.

Is it just a mosituriser or a tan extender that you want to retail?
sorry forgot to check your profile to see what you use :o lol
If the comapnies products you use offer a tan extender then I'd sell that to clients, it will last quite a bit (well mine does :D) I would'nt advise using a different brands. Oil free moisturisers can be different, I suggest nivea or clena clear oil free as Xen Tan do not do this product yet. And for shower gel radox or simple, strictly no dove or imperial leather though! hth xx

It's best to recommend the brand you use for you spray tan solution. People who use an "off the shelf" product will probably get orange results. The reason these products tend to be more expensive than off the shelf supermarket products is generally down to the quality of the ingredients - it is in our case anyway. Also they are manufactured to work perfectly with the professionally applied product. I always think therapists make the mistake of decision making for their clients as to whether they can afford a product or not. At the end of the day you give your professional advice and its down to them whether they take that advice. You are giving your client choices - let them make them.
As far as products to avoid are concerned - anything with SLS or AHA's is a good starting point.

hi. yes as above always recomend what companys tan u use. also non fragranced products prevent tan fron streaking and lasting longer. x

tan extender = the same brand of spray tan solution, it might be more expensive but you get what you pay for... supermarket gradual tanners have between 1-3% dha, which just makes ppl look yellow, the tan extender from your spray tan supplier has more and the colour will match

shower gels= all shower gels contain SLS, this causes breakdown of tan, Holland and Barrett have a mr organics range that is SLS free, if you are going to buy a normal shower gel then radox is a good one and others that have no oil in them
DONT advise on Dove, Imperial Leather or Johnsons Body Wash, bad bad

same with moisturizers OIL FREE
Jergens is meant to be good
