Hi,
What would be the best strengthener to recommend clients with weak nails & they want them to grow as well?

Niki xx

That's a tough question, as you can't really change the structure of the natural nail plate. The best suggestion I have read came from Doug Schoon and he states that the correct moisture level on the nail plate is vital to healthy nails. CUTICLE OIL (IMO) is the best product to apply to keep the nails flexible. Too many nail strengtheners on the market make nails so hard that they become very brittle and snap off.

INM has a product that will cross-link with the natural nail plate in approx 10 days to help aid in strength and flexibility - but for my money - its cuticle oil all the way!

I believe that CND has a product that can help as well - PM Gigi or Samuel Sweet and they can help you out there!

If the client is having real trouble growing any length I would suggest a natural nail overlay to protect the nail and give it strength and prevent breakage.

Im no big expert in the nails department, but i discovered Solar Oil a couple of months go and my nails are absolutely amazing!!!!! :)

They were always breaking and wouldn't grow for me at all. Now i put solar oil on whenever i wash my hands at work and before bed and the change is unbelivable!!!!! They're lovely and long and getting stronger by the day, but don't know if this would be the answer for everyone.

Think i'll definately be recommending this to my clients when i go mobile though!

Toughen up nail strengthener and solar oil...always keep the nails and surrounding skin hydrated...it will give "flexibility",and not just coat the nails.

Unlike other cuticle oils solar oil has remarkable ingredients such as jojoba oil,to PENETRATE the nail as opposed to some on the market that just sit on the surface, and have no benefit to the nails and skin.hth:hug:

I have been a beauty therapist for the last 15 years and been doing manicures for the same length of time. In my opinion you can't do much better than OPI Nail Envy. I have tried many over the years but have always gone back to Nail Envy. They do different types now for different problems, flaking nails etc but I stick with the Original in the green box. Lots of my clients are using this now and are very happy.:)

my nails were awful so I started using OPI's nail envy and its amazing!!

solar oil and nail envy are both great

Thanks for all your replies:hug:
Have sent her on her way to buy EVERYTHING:lol:
