Hi

Looking to see where i may have gone wrong?

Had a client in today for acrylics, done everything as i thought i should, push back cuticles, acetone over nail, remove top layer with 180 grit, nail pure, asize tips and glue on, primer then put on acrylic, which was all fine. When i go to the pinky to start filing and shaping the pinky tip just kind of dissolved when i was filing over it??? This has never happened before and seemed really strange, i just removed it and started again.

Just wandering has anyone ever experienced something as bizarre as this before?

Was the product on and it started?

If not I would suggest maybe the primer has got onto the tip. You only apply it to the nail bed as it can sort of 'dissolve' the plastic.

Your profile does not say what experience you have or system used.

However I assume it is NSI as you mention Nailpure.

In what way did the product dissolve...and was it only the pinky nail?
It sounds to me like it may be a mix ratio problem, and you maybe had put too wet a bead on this pinky, and this resulted in exessive shrinkage or surface frosting. Also what kind of temperature were you working in...too cold? were the clients hands cold...this could also be the cause.

This of course is all specualtion as we don't really have enough information to give an exact answer...but I hope this has still been helpful.

Using pure Acetone as a PREP solution can also have a sort of delayed effect on tips especially if it is lingering around in the nail folds.
