Hey you all,

Can you guys give me some advice on blending tips? I asked a nail tech to put a tip on my thumb so I could see how she blends. She then said that this industry is about money and saving time. She started blending and I was very impressed at how quickly she was doing it, but then later I realised she had filed away the whole tip, leaving only the free edge. When I got home the free edge tore off anyway and this was not the way I was trained at all. I was also shocked that she was so worried about time and money that she didnt take care of protecting her client's(my) nails. She had filed so much that I now have a hollow groove in my nail bed! Im quite annoyed because when I thought I was learning something I wasnt at all... I was trained to file gently until, when wet, the tip would be transparent, and at least the tip would still be attached to the nail bed! But I am struggling with my blending, not sure which grit file to use, please help!

ps: the tech I went to used a 100grit file(if I remember correctly) and she gave me one aswell.

Read Geeg's tutorial on file control, some excellent advice on blending. I wouldnt use that 100 grit file the tech gave you either, far too harsh .
