Can anybody recommend a lovely body treatment/wrap that doesn't require the client to shower after... as I don't have one in my treatment room.

I currently use AHAVA who do a great dead sea mud but I am of the understanding that this would be near impossible to remove without a shower (correct me if I'm wrong if you use this product).

I'm going to excel this march so is there any brands I should have my eye out for?

All advise greatly appreciated.

I have worked in a spa(where we had two showers in rooms) and then a salon without a shower. You can still do any treatments without a shower with careful planning.
You would need a large bowl of hot water, large sponges(St Tropez do nicely sized ones)and a couple of hand mitts.Once you have completed the mud mask, remove, starting on one limb at a time,so leg, wipe off with sponges, then dry with mitts, then thoroughly dry with towel and cover with fresh towel. Then go onto next area.
It is more inconvenient but as long as you are properly prepared there's no reason that you can't do any treatment without a shower really.
I woud suggest swapping the couch roll though, when you have finished exfoliating(if this is part of your routine)so you dont get exfoliant in the mask and create right mess)

Further to the excellent advice above, I offer the whole range of Decleor body treatments & don't use a shower - although efficient I find showers disrupt the flow of a treatment & once the client is in the shower it can be a pain to get them out again! I use the St Tropez sponges & mitts, but a further tip is to use the plastic sheeting they are wrapped in to remove the excess, i.e. as you peel the plastic off, pull it over the skin to collect up as much as you can, that way you'll have less to sponge off!

Great advice from both,

You can also get a special waterproof couch roll - suitable for body treatments.

I have also known of therapists to just use a hot towels kept in a caddy to remove masks, scrubs etc.

I once had a body contour wrap & there was no shower used with that!

can anybody recommend any specific body treatments that are popular?

like, which ones are more in demand?
  • exfoliation?
  • slimming?
  • mud?
  • aromatic/relaxing?

We used Aromatherapy associates products in my last work place and I found that the product was easily removed with wet towels which we kept in the hot cabby.

The most popular treatment we did was the AA Enrich body treatment, which involved body scrub, followed by a warm body serum being lightly massaged, follwed by body butter and oil , with a nice warm hand and foot mask, that was relaxing doing that treatment as well as having it done.

I know that salon serve do a peel off body mask which you dont need to wash off. XX

Most Wrap syestems are indeed messy to say the least. I have been trying to locate through here and elsewhere the Original Quickslim Body Wrap. My Aunt used this extensively when she was young and I remember it being so clean. No residue other than a fine dust which can be brushed away. Having had no luck from Ellisons I have found te source so let me know if you need any information.

If you use the AHAVA dead sea mud as a wrap it is very difficult to remove without a shower even if you were exeptionally thorough because it is thick. My skin would feel a bit itchy if I did not have a shower after the AHAVA wrap.

However, you can offer body wraps without a shower. I use dark colour hot towels and big body sponges.

Dermalogica has two wraps, a hydrating gel/lotion and a enzymatic mud which comes in a powder and you mix it with water to make a thin consistency which makes it easy to apply and remove.

Techspa do a body wrap system where you don't need to shower after. The bandages are pre-soaked and stay active for 12 hours :)

im going to check them out at excel but just wondering about peoples opinions on them... their treatments sound very relaxing and i imagine it smells gorgeous but doesnt look very results driven...

do the slimming wraps tend to be more desirable or the realxing/pampering ones? xo

Hi
Check out www.bioslimming.co.uk for a fantastic, results driven wrap from Beverly Hills. It is a no mess, no fuss, bandage free wrap that dramatically reduces cellulite, fat & inches. It also enhances weight loss and burns calories for 2 hours following the treatment. It continues the slimming effect for 12 hours following application.

Two great body treatments I have been using in my practice are the Peppermint Sea Twist Detox Wrap by Repechage' and the other is the Parafango Slimming Wrap by Anesi. Both are fabulous and neither require the use of a shower. The Peppermint wrap uses bandages soaked in a special solution, the client is wrapped and afterward the bandages are simply removed and a cream is massaged into the skin! The parafango is like having a full body paraffin dip!!! Great for dry skin, applied with a paintbrush, then wrapped in saran and thermals, after processing time you simply take a little tool they provide (a letter opener with their logo lol) and you slice thru the wrap and parafango wax is peels away from the skin perfectly. Any reside can be dry brushed off before applying the final moisturizer. Client love the results.

Shrinking violet body wrap!! The client leaves the product on for 12hours and well I just love it - amazing!!
