Hi Ladies,

My Cousin has asked me to trial her Bridal Make up for her, I just wanted your opinions, do I use Mac Studio fix (which I use) or do I look at something more proffessional say from Charles Fox taking into consideration photographs and staying power. Not sure as never done a make up course altho have been dabbling for many years with friends etc. Can someone give me suggestions please.

Thanks

Dawn

I could be wrong but I thought Charles Fox was just Stage make up? When I did make up at college we used normal make up but obviously after the prep. I find that Liquid foundation lasts longer as long as you set it but as I said, I only did make up as part of my level 2 so I'm sure more make up pros will come along and correct anything I have wrong. Hi Sunontherun, I am a bridal make-up artist and I think you will find that most MUA's carry a range of both premium and professional cosmetics in their kits. MAC over the counter are a premium brand although they also have pro stock for which you have to be a pro MAC member.

If you like the studio fix on yourself, then by all means, use it on your cousin but remember that what is good on your skin may not be right for your cousin. You also want to be careful of any light reflectors in products which may cause the light to bounce off the face in flash photography...usually identified in the ingredients as titanium dioxide.

Another MUA recommended Chanel foundations for bridal, which I now use and they are lovely... Pro Lumiere for brides but depends on skin type really.

I use Patricia Milton makeup and on brides I always use the vanishing base which gives amazing luminosity to the skin and also contains an SPF and vitamin E. To ensure that everything stays put (bear in mind that some brides will need their makeup to stay in place for hours and hours!) i use the fixing makeup spray. This is an alchol free spray which fixes makeup but also moisturises the skin. Perfecto!

Hope this helps.

xx

i am also a big fan of chanel foundations i carry pro and vita lumiere in my kit
if its a one off, perhaps your cousin could get a chanel mua to match one to her skin tone and type and you could apply it on her behalf, rather than you buying a random (expensive) foundation you may never use again - unless you plan to put together a kit of course!

Thank you all so much, I do have chanel foundation already so will try, did her trial, we both really liked the end product. x
