Broadband providers

I've been with Tiscali for 2 years, been happy with them. They've been taken over by Talk Talk.

Just got a letter saying that my monthly payments are increasing, but on facebook they are offering the same package for £10 less.

I have no contract with Tiscali, I signed up for 12 months and thats well over.

My question is, if I cancelled my Tiscali/Talk Talk contract and signed up for a new one, how long is the changeover.

I have a dependancy on my lappy and my son is addicted to x box live so it might be worth shutting up and paying up for continuity.

Phone them to discuss this...as soon as you say you are thinking on finding another provider, they will give you the package they give new customers or at least some kind of deduction.

I'd do a bit of research and find out what other providers are offering pricewise. If it's cheaper than talk talk you can quote it to them and see if they will price match.

I've already tried that. What I am trying to get is the same deal as a new customer would get. I don't want to change providers but I want in on the deal rather than paying over £10 more a month.

It really sticks in my throat that they are offering new people phone and broadband for £6.99 the same week I get a letter telling me that they are increasing my monthly rate by £1 which makes me paying over twice as much as a new customer.

Have you got Sky, if so, they have a good phone/broadband package.

I've just upgraded our broadband to unlimited due to XBox live and TV streaming....it eats up your download allowance.

If you aren't contractually tied to Tiscali, ring them and tell them you want the same offer they are offering new customers for the same price and you will sign a new 12 month contract with them That is what I did with AOL xxx
