Hi i just wondered if there was anything that can help my client with the broken capillaries she is getting on her cheek area i know recommending a faceblock is important but she said shes tried most products and i just wondered if anything can help with it.
shee tint redness relief would be a good one for hiding the redness as she was using a heavy foundation and when i tested the dermalogica one i think she felt there wasnt enough coverage there.
any other advice would be apreciated on dermalogica product
recommendations for broken capillaries her skin is normal to oily
thankyou

I'd recommend Dermalogica's Age Smart Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque

dermalogica.com--Dermalogica's official home page

Just make sure the client doesn't expect a miracle treatment which will make them disappear, because they won't. But it'll do a good job of soothing the redness of them and making them less noticable

HTHs xx

now why didnt i think of that lol not very good at thinking on the spot its just one of those things where clients say i use at masque allready at home but from reading the link you sent it addresses most of her concerns.
thankyou for that
she also was very keen on using multiactive toner though im sure soothing protection spray might be better for her

Hi there,

I have no experience in treating broken capillaries but have suffered with them myself. I tried all sorts of creams and lotions over the years but nothing worked for me. Two things have worked though. I went to a therapist specialising in diathermy electrolysis which worked well. She inserted a needle into the broken capillaries and zapped them with electricity (I think that's how it works). Anyway, apart from redness and tiny scabs (which fell off after about a week) it worked a treat.

I have recently tried another method by laser. I was a guinea pig for a doctor friend of mine and he got rid of all my thread veins in one session. It was painless and apart from a bit of redness for a few hours afterwards I was amazed at the results and will definitely be going back (as unfortunately mine do come back eventually).

Some people are happy to live with them and just cover up but if she is looking to get rid of them I would definitely recomment laser.

All the best,

Hi, I actually retail the Skin Doctors range and they do a Capilliary Clear cream. Two of my clients have had it and swear by it. I retail it at £17.95 which is cheaper than Boots & Debenhams.

Let me know if she would like to try it and i'll sort it out for you xxx

Hi there,

I would recommend diathermy too, I carry it out in my salon and have had some good results on the face. If the capillaries are really deep/purple looking it might not be possible to treat them though. But on the red ones, usually one to three treatments (with gaps of about 6 weeks between) will get rid of them. With time more can develop but you can advise your client on skincare products to help prevent this happening, ie moisturisers with sunblock etc .
