I'm trying to find a thread to get the correct info about consumers rights, fit for purpose and in uk we have a 5yr guarantee.

I'm so glad I'm not a nail tech specialising in CND just now, you's have all had a tough time recently with vinylux (sp) now lamps

Il keep trying to find the thread as it still stands if your manufactures warranty has ran out

I get Which? magazine, so will also have a look on their website. They're great when it comes to explaining Consumer rights and the Sale of Goods Act.

To much to copy and paste

Go on moneysavingexpert.com youl all find the info and it's explained pretty well,
Good luck getting new lamps (when in stock)

I am so angry! Just off the phone to S2 reporting yet another faulty lamp which was only sent in October and they've informed me that 2 if my returns haven't been received by them (one in September and one in October). I have therefore been told that I have to pay for my replacement unless I can find my proof of postage (which is probably now with the accountant as I submitted my paperwork in November.

Surely if this was the case they should've phoned or sent an email to query this? They've been quite happy to accept hundreds of pounds worth of orders from me since then without saying a work but now I have a problem they are questioning it (even though it's the same fault that has appeared again and again)

Getting so fed up! Can anyone suggest an alternative brand to bring into the salon that will work with my existing lamps and still provide a great service so I can phase shellac out? My confidence in the brand and S2 is totally shot.

I just want to say sweet squared are the distributor they don't make the lamps or shellac CND do. So the issue with the lamps isn't their fault it's the manufacturer. I agree they should've let you know when the lamps hadn't arrived too them, but they are ski busy it's probably an oversight.

I'm sure there doing everything they can about the lamps and as far as I know they don't have any in stock and are waiting for them to arrive.

I do understand it is frustrating but I'm sure you accountant if you know the month shud be able to copy and send/fax/email it too you :)

Gelish. Always in stock, no lamp problems. Nail Harmony give great customer service. Product lasts 3 weeks, not 2. It's a no-brainer.

I know S2 have taken a battering lately for the lamp debacle (who would be a distributor) but I would just like to praise them for the better than excellent service we have just received, we placed an order at 16:23 on Wednesday and within an hour I had an email telling me the order had been dispatched and would be delivered the next day, not bad for free delivery :Love:

They are brilliant at their customer service and delivery! Obviously the whole lamp thing isn't their fault but manufacturers and they've done the right thing by removing all lamps. Can't be easy on the tech either but there's no need to be angry at S2 about it!
They are one of the only companies that I don't mind ringing up if there's a problem or question because they are always so polite and helpful! Sending some love to the S2 staff aswell! X

There is no nail brand or distributor that operates constantly without issue. Any sizeable company will encounter logistics issues at some point. Gelish has its fair share - they have had numerous problematic releases.

In the scenario stated above I can't see that Harmony would have handled things any differently. They may have had lamps in stock but since the underlying issue is that 2 items from 4 months ago have gone missing on their return to the manufacturer it wouldn't make any difference.

Surely, like S2, Harmony would request proof of postage before progressing the matter in any way? S2's conduct as presented in this thread seems reasonable & ethically sound to me.

OMG! Did you see how that nail tech removed the "Shellac"!!!!!!!!! Really!? With a metal nail tool and scraping!? Is that how you remove it!? No thanks. I'll stick to Gelish.

And not only that, the reporter referred to Shellac as a "gel polish". I thought it was a "power polish". make your mind up CND. Is this what CND want on their you tube page? What a cheap stunt.

Ahh here we go another lamp issue.

I went through four yes FOUR lamps by CND.

Two started to smoke from the back and the other two just packed in.

I have been using my nsi lamp since with NO issue at all.

Those lamps by cnd are over priced and I still believe it is a marketing ploy.

Yes but they've shot themselves in the foot with this marketing ploy cos now their lamps are out of stock and breaking left right and centre and all the techs have been told not to use another brand lamp with Shellac. So now Shellac techs with no lamp are buying another system so they can still service their clients. Oh dear.

Had to fail some day.

After reading MANY posts recently with CND lamps breaking & thinking what a nightmare for a self employed nail tech this would be. ESPECIALLY as there are none in stock in the UK & havent been for weeks. What happened to me today????
Yep you guessed it my CND lamp purchased from S2 in June broke!!! Contacted S2 & as I expected there is no date for when there will be more lamps just hopefully in the next couple of weeks!! How can a company so big who are adamant only the CND lamp will fully cure there products be out of stock for SO long????
Thank god im able to borrow a very good friends old CND lamp otherwise my business and income would be doomed until further notice. Cant believe it. Im now going to be purchasing a 2nd/spare lamp (when theyre back in stock) thanks to a generous gift from my parents.
Bad day :(

Do you use the NSI one with Shellac? And if so which one...

My lamp broke today too. Bought in June from S2. Wouldnt be SO bad if they had some to send customers strIght away but to not have ANY for WEEKS is unbelievable. What do they expect businesses to do??

I'm not sure why OPI Gel Colour is being portrayed in that clip as a copy of Shellac as it's a totally different product?
