Hello everyone,
I need some advice. I am still very new to the industry, so I am still in that stage of trying different products and techniques to find what works best for me (although do we really ever get out of that stage :):):) ).
Anyway, I just started using Dashing Diva Gelife which is a soak off gel. I really like it. It is easy to work with and it looks really nice when it is finished. I have put it on a handful of test cases, and I am finding that it really only lasts about a week before it starts to lift a bit at the edges on some of the fingers. Am I thinking correctly, that maybe I will have to use my Dashing Diva Gelife for people who want their manicures and french manicures to last a week (for a special occasion or a trip) and use it also for "weekend nails" for weddings and dances, etc. and then use my Light Elegance (a buff off gel) for those who intend to wear gels long term and get fills every two to three weeks.
When the clients call or come in do I ask them what their intentions are and choose the appropriate gel according to their goals and lifestyles etc.
I like both products, but I like Dashing Diva's tips and french wrap plus, so I guess I was looking to save on shipping and use one company to order from. Maybe it is me and the soak off gel should not start lifting after one week?? If this is normal, I feel that I cannot expect people to pay for the gelife weekly and should use the buff off if they intend to wear their gels long term. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance:)

I have used the Gelife soak off gel for some time to test it and I also find that it does not wear well after a week or so. But then it is not really meant to ... what I mean by that is that most soak off gels are fairly short term and only suitable for certain clients with fairly strong natural nails and, shall we say, a life style that is not heavy on their hands. Think of it more like a durable polish not an enhancement.

Your buff off gels are for clients who need a more permanent solution that will stand up to heavy duty day to day living (the majority of us).

You have to offer both types of gel ... one is quick and easy and the price should reflect that ... the more durable gels require more skill more time and the price should reflect that.

Thanks Geeg, that is what I was thinking, and just wanted to make sure I was thinking correctly. I appreciate your help:)
