Buff to matte technique?

Have tried using search bar for answer but everything just says top coat twice and 'buff' to a matte finish
what grit buffer do I use to not leave scratch marks? (Gel Polish) Thanks!

Plain white block should be good but do softly or will scratch. It take little practice to do this technique good! 240 grit should be ok or the OPI 280 remember very soft buff
