We know that the beauty industry is dominated by women, but did you know that it's now in the top three industries for young women choosing careers? According to a study conducted by BABTAC, the beauty industry is luring more young women than ever before.
The study asked women to identify their career wish list with 36 per cent selecting hairdressing as a professional. A further 29 per cent chose beauty therapy as their career of choice with 30% opting for careers in fashion.
The study, which included 2,114 women between the ages of 18 and 25 revealed the strength of the industry and the potential it holds for the future.
Speaking in response to the finding, BABTAC's general manager, Colin Webster said,"Its very positive to see the beauty industry come so high in the career aspirations of young women. There are an awful lot that careers in the industry can offer people, although some aspiring beauty therapists may be disappointed to find that theres a lot more to the job than the stereotypes in the media."
Until then...geek on!
