I have just started NVQ Level 1 Beauty Therapy, when I looked into the course they said I would need to find a work placement during the course but I haven't been able to find one yet. I am on my second assignment and it requires talking to/getting information from the salon I am working in, I have explained the situation to my tutor and they have said it is ok to get the information from another salon willing to answer my questions until I find a placement.
Could anyone possibly help me with some information?
I need to find out your health & safety policy/code of practice, name of your salon, name of your first aider and the days they work, name of manager/supervisor generally responsible for help in the salon, and the following information about the person in charge of health and safety in your salon: name, hours/days they work, who is responsible if that person is away, his/her telephone number or place of contact.

I would need to have the signature of the person providing me this information along with their job-title and contact number.

I realise this is a BIG ask but I am hoping someone can help.

Thank you.

I think it would be better if you approached a salon local to you.

Yeah, I was just hoping to get it done over the weekend if possible.

Hmm, tried 3 places today...

1) Looked at me like a freak for asking them in the first place
2) Said no outright, fairly rude
3) Very polite but still said no

Will try some more tomorrow, feeling a bit nervous now though.

Well that's no way to speak to a potential future employee, is it?

A lot of salons are very busy at this time of year so maybe better to call them prior to turning up,explain the situation as you have on here and ask if they would mind you popping round for the information. You may find they can then give you a time which is suitable for them without encroaching on either their break or their treatments.HTH and good luck:hug:
