I was always under the impression that you can only polish nails if you are tanning?

But a client has asked about tinting brows and lashes? Could I do this on the same night as a tan?

Thanks x

as far as i'm aware yes you can - you only wouldn't be able to if you are waxing/reshaping brows - You would have to wait 24 hours as the hair follicle would still be open.

i would tint the eb and lashes first then apply your tan. because when you remove the tint from the eyes and brows you will remove some of the tan.

I asked the same question earlier this year. I was told that as long as I make sure all the vaseline is cleaned away, you should be absolutely fine to then tan.
Haven't tried it yet though xx

yes be very careful of that darned vaseline, you'll have one rather upset customer if it doesnt all come off............ sort of like a reverse panda...

LOL my thoughts exactly - haven't had the guts to try it yet :) x

Hi ,

Thanks for all your replies!

I made a quick call to Sienna X who advised to avoid it to be safe incase they contract!

Best be safe than sorry - called the client to explain that they had advised against but her choice - she took their decision.

Thanks again all x

I haven't tinted eyelashes on the same day but i've tinted eyebrows quite a few times!
In fact one of my clients likes her eyebrows nice and dark and is always rushed for time. I put her tint on her eyebrows and leave it on while i'm spraying her. I leave the face till last and just before i spray her face, i take the tint off. I've never used vaseline when tinting eyebrows(got a steady hand) so don't have to worry about that. You can just pop a bit of vaseline over tinted brows in case the tan reacts with the tint.

just be wary tint can turn green if tanned immediately, after, i always pluck the strays rathe than wax on the day
i often tint then tan but only a few tiomes has it turned gree,
be careful
xx

If you pop a little bit of vaseline on then it will stop the brows going green.
You can't wax the same day as tanning and you can't pluck either. Plucking will still open the follicles and can cause irritation.
Wax or pluck 24 hours before :)

thanks angelina i do pop vaselin on now as a barrier, i do tweexe, find it doesnt opne the pores as much as wax, and yes i do advise the client that this sint ideal but have nbben known to do it if they cant make it to a treatment the day previous

It's really not worth the risk. If you have any irritation then your insurance will be void.
I have done this once-by mistake. Luckily it was my sister. She used to work at my salon and one morning i waxed her eyebrows. We came to the end of the day and we were rushing about cleaning up when she asked me if i could give her a quick spray tan before we left. We both completely forgot about her wax earlier in the day and so i sprayed her.
Her one brow was really irritated and sore and was like this for a few days. This was with a few hours in between too so i definitely wouldn't wax on the same day.

I have to say I have tanned, waxed and tinted on the same app and so far I never have had any problems.
This is not my choice and the clients who want it know there might be a risk.

I only ever do a light swipe over their faces as they all wear make-up so are not that fussed about a very tanned face.

I totally agree with Angelina,I never wax or tweezer anyone on the same day as tanning...Tweezering and waxing opens the follicles which could equate to an infection and as said would void anyones insurance should an infection/complication arise.

Yes I totally agree with BABsann, I never wax or tweezer the same day as tanning! It's just not worth that risk, if you explain to clients why they are usually ok about it and come a different day before the tan.
