Can you use pre-blended oils without an aromatherapy qualification?

Agree to disagree. 😃

I think i may have opened or reopened a can of worms;-/

I have to agree with Gillian. My fragrant pharmacy is a great book. I have studied aromatherapy for over 20 years and once clients have a proper aromatherapy treatment, they do not go elsewhere.

I have had a proper aromatherapy massage. The consultation took an hour. It ws completely different to a swedish massage using pre-blended oils x

I'm also a qualified aromatherapist. I was amazed when my daughter told me she was training in aromatherapy massage until it became clear it was using pre blended oils.
I think the question from Helen was about what it is called. This is the grey area. If you call it an aromatherapy massage then your small print states it is using pre blended oils you are not contravening anything. My massage says
'Full aromatherapy massage using oils mixed individually for each client'.

Yes it may be dumbing down but I don't know what else you call it.
Maybe just 'massage' but then it immediately sounds slightly dodgy!
Swedish massage using pre blended aromatherapy oils is a mouthful.
No one is going to take you to court for misrepresentation if you call it an aromatherapy massage as long as it is clear you use pre blended oils!
