Cancer of hands!!

Hi one of my clients said her friends told her they would not have gel nails done as you can get cancer from the UV light box we use. I read something regarding this a while ago but could not find it to show her, it said it was rubbish.

Am I right in saying that there is no evidence of this at all. After loosing a third of my family through cancer I would never knowingly use anything on either myself or my clients which is harmfull. Please could someone put my mind at rest thanks

Of course there is no truth to it.

YOu are exposed to more UV light walking to the car than from UV lamp for nails ... lord the things people say and believe.

Do you honestly think if there was evidence that what you ask is true, that we would be allowed to use UV lights for curing nails.? That dentists would be allowed to use UV light for curing fillings?? What about sun beds??? Lets use common sense as well as intellignece here.

if she is so bothered by it, you could offer her a high factor spf sun cream, if you think it would help

It is UVB & UVC which is dangerous all Gel lamps use UVA which is harmless :hug:

:green: Thank you!!! I just did the refill last night and made them thinner than they were before. I just painted them with Zoya matte Harlow...I love it!
