Hi there!

I've read a few times on this site about 'capping'. Can someone please explain to me exactly what this is?? It is, I believe, related to gel nails.

Hi Nynn,
Capping is simple taking gel slightly over the free-edge to seal the nail.
Because when gel is cured it shrinks back slightly and if not capped this can leave the tip of the free-edge with no gel on it.

Hey,
ALso capping the nail helps stops the free edge curling away from the overlay which can cause a real headache!!

Capping is not exclusive to gel nails.

All nail systems last longer and have fewer problems if the free edge and the sides of the free edge are sealed/capped.
