Hi,

I've been using the same brush for about four months now and it seems to be clean. When I do acrylic for a client, however, a few minutes later, their nails turn brown!

I was just wondering if anybody on this forum could help me out and advise me how to stop this from happening.

Thanks for your help in advance!!

Hiya

It sounds as if the brush has been contaminated some way. I was taught by CND that contaminated acrylic liquid could cause yellowing or discolouration of the nails. I know it sounds silly, but do you clean your brush with some clean monomer before you put your brush away? I have bought a brush cleaner from essential nails and I use it once or twice a week.It seems to keep the brush clean.

I hope I helped

yeah i do that! of course! any other ideas

Do you store your brush in a brush case?

My CND educator said that you can change the monomer as soon as it goes a little cloudy. Every few nails. See if that works. Otherwise it may be time for a new brush lol I have been through so many it's crazy

Hi Hun,
Have you used different brands of monomer with the same brush?
If so this will contaminate the brush.......I have a couple of bushes that this happened to in my early days, They are still fine I use them for coloured acrylics now. Never white!!!
So now when using CND Creative I have one brush. When using NSI I have a different brush. Never shall they meet:lol:.
Hope this is of some help.
Lotsa luv x x x  x x x

Try not to use brush cleaner if at all poss! Use clean monomer to clean your brush and store it with a lid on or in a case. Only use brush cleaner if you've got a stubborn bit of acrylic in there!

I absolutely agree and so does CND!!
ONLY clean your brush in clean monomer.
Use your brush for one kind of monomer only
Store your clean brush in a case .. flat

I use my brush for different monomers and never had any problems with my brush because of that. That sounds really strange for me.
clean your brush properly with monomer only, don't touch the bristle of your brush with your finger and should be fine

Doug Schoon the world authority on nail chemistry advises not to use your brush for more than one kind of monomer or it will cause contamination of your brush (whether or not you can see it) .... frankly that is good enough for me to do as he says.

Right, fair enough:)
