Clear and glitter gel nails

Hi

I am new to nails and am still experimenting. a friend has asked me to do her nails, she works in a supermarket and is not allowed coloured varnish and has just asked for a clear gel varnish, would you just do a base coat and top coat or specifically buy a clear varnish if one is available?

Another question I would like help on is glitter, I have brought a little pot of glitter dust that can be used for nails, how best do I apply this? When I applied and tried to put a top coat on top most of the glitter came off.

What system are u using as some dony leave much if a tacky layer behind after curing. I norm do base coat cure, colour coat or sheer pink cure tthen using dry brush apply glitter then burnish/ press on glitter then top coat ×2
