Hello Everyone !:green:

I have decided that I'd like to do the Foundation course:), and I have had a quick chat to someone on the Sweet Squared Live Chat but have a few more questions.

Is there anyone out there who has done this course who can help me or knows enough about it to help me please?

It is something I will have to save up to do, but Id like to know more about the course before I pay out more money (spent a hell of a lot on Essential Nails Courses)

Thanks in advance.

Mrs

Any body ??? Please ???

It depends what you need to know. But your quickest way to get the answer, and to make sure you get the correct answer would be to call sweetsquared and ask. I havent done the CND foundation but it seems easier to get your answer directly from the source and from what i've heard they are extremely lovely, helpful people

Hi, I've done their foundation course and would recommend it. I don't know your questions, so can't attempt to answer, but just give sweetsquared a ring and they will give you all the facts. :)

Hiya,

Basically I wanted to know the course content, i.e. what we would be learning and when, what I would need to bring and what was included in the 'kit'.

They told me they couldn't tell me as they give that information out with the confirmation of the booking.

So Im pretty much stuck, I dont wanna pay up front til I know what Im getting but they wont tell me until I pay !

Thanks

Mrs :)

You will learn the basics of nail anatomy, how to prepare the nails for enhancements, how to apply and blend tips, how to do a smile line for a French set, along with the structure of the body of the nail and how to finish file, maintain and rebalance them. That's just off the top off my head and I'm sure I'm leaving some bits out.

You will also learn how to form a bead ie correct ratio of liquid to powder along with the information about the 'Chemistry' side of what the acrylic is doing <cross linking chains>, how it cures and how to remove enhancements. You will also learn about client consultations, contraindications and health and safety to perform a safe service. You will get all the necessary equipment and products with your kit for the course and will be told when you need a model, usually every day but the first one. You can usually hire a trainer hand from them or you may
choose to purchase your own, a very worthwhile investment.

Honestly, there is no great mystery and you will get a thorough introduction into the world of nails and how to perform a service. Book with confidence! :)

Okey dokey, thank you Deena.

Do you have to have a model? I might struggle to find someone to take !

I already have a nail trainer :)

How long are you there during the day? I was bit confused by the 4 days there, then you go back in 2 weeks and then a few weeks after that, she said something about a portfolio? what do we have to do in the portfolio?

Im a bit of anxious person ! So like to know plenty before hand.

How many people are in a class?

Sorry for all the questions

Getting a model can be difficult, but they are a necessity I'm afraid. I can only speak for my own training, others might have slightly different experiences with their classes. Allow for a full day each time. I didn't have to do a portfolio, so can't help you with that. You need a break between some of the days to allow time for practise and your model's nails to grow in order to rebalance them. You learn is small classes and I think there is a limit to the numbers, but it's a while since I did it. I think there were five in my class. :)

There's also a written test on the final day and the practical assessment and the test result combined determine whether you pass or not. You need a model for days 3, 4 and 5 I believe and you will be told the details when you book.

The CND Foundation is the best start you can have in nail education IMO, so stop fretting get it booked!!

where are you doing the course?? if you're doing it in bournemouth i may be able to be your model! im thnking of doing the same as you so would be interesting for me.
:)

Thanks for your replys.
Im just a bit anxious becasue of how much money I've already spent out on Essential Nails courses, and now I realise I made a mistake.
I am planning on doing it in Plymouth, as thats the closest one to me, altough its still about 45 mins by car to get to!
Kinda wish they had a preview of it so I can see what i'll be doing.
Damn my anxiousness !

I've just booked my course for 22nd of March so am very excited. I thought it would be 5 cont days so learnt something new and that i'd need to take model...I've got loads queueing up already.
:)

There is no need to be anxious the course is fantastic and you will love it I have to say you are very lucky having an Academy so close to you I have to travel 3 hours to get to mine I travel 60 miles just to do my weekly shop

You will get so much out of the course and because you have already done the EN course you will have a bit of knowledge which will slip you in easier.
Just go for it it is well worth the money.

Thanks for all the replies.

Im feeling good about it, just going to wait until I receive my info from s2 before I do anymore.

When you do the course, do they really start from the beginning and work through it with you? Like, come round and give you individual help or do they just tell you what to do and let you get on with it?

Do you get an instruction book to use when you get home? I dont think my head would remember it all from a few days training:o

I just wish they had a bit more information on the course on the website, dont want to keep ringing them and asking more questions !:green:

I had email for trainer in St Helens so kept emailing her til i was ready to book, she was really helpful. I booked it before i started panicking that i took to much on as I'm doing semi-permanent lashes mid-feb too and both require patience and practise :green:

Too late now with them both being booked  No seriously tho i'm the sort of person if i think about it too much i panick myself out of it..and i know deep down i can cope with it as i'm willing to put in the time and effort.

What i would say is that when i rang up they were very helpful and answer all your questions so go for it :)

Mrs Nails, you could aso call the Plymouth educator direct with all your questions, S2 will give you her number, i think it is Katrina for your area. We are always happy to answer all questions, enjoy your course you will love it.

i live in st helens
