Hi Guys!

:Look_righI am not a nail tech:Look_left but I know a lot from reading ridiculous amounts of articles and websites on brands etc.

I know my nail beds arent oily, and where I currently go I pay 45$ per fill and they use a acrylic system called BE or BEE. whichever. Either way I have never heard of it and I think it is dodgy!

There are two salons I can choose from, BLUSH beauty in south brisbane which uses CND acrylic and fine lines beauty in springwood which uses EZFLOW. I notice that some of my nails DONT lift and other times it does which is super duper annoying - preperation is done correctly however I have narrowed it down to
:down: :down:
a) gel top coat
b) the fact that with my thumb and little pinky the acrylic NEVRE covers the whole nail its usually .01mm literally JUST off in from the edge, and somehow the nail techs have a habbit of NOT doing this for my ring and middle finger which seem to lift and the thumb and pink doesnt - so I am putting it down to that.

:right:Anyway to the point:left::o
a) which acrylic has the better clear ish pink for french?:(
b) which one has a tendency to NOT lift?:(
c) on a side note - why do nail techs charge more for gel top coat and say it prevents discoloration when good acrylic SHOULD NOT do that? is there any benefit of having that over just a plain buff and polish on top of acrylic?:sad:

Sorry guys,
:Look_righsoooo many questions:Look_left :D:lick::D

a) I prefer the pink from CND but it is a matter of personal choice as to which is the 'better' colour ... depends on how you define 'better'.

b) Neither product should be prone to lift if the technician has done the work properly and carefully.

c) The benefit of having the clear gel over the L&P is mostly to the technician!! as it takes less work to apply the gel than to buff your nails to a high shine; that is the reason most of them use it.

CND never yellows so it does not need the protection of a gel.

Another reason/benefit to some clients is that if they remove their polish to change their colour, the gel will stay shiny whereas a buffed nail would be dull and have to be re-buffed.

Most people choose the salon they go to by how well their nails LAST and how good the technician is.

Hi Geeg

Thank you so much for that! Would you happen to know if EZFLOW yellows?
Also I have heard that the clear pinks in the CND range tend to have bubblies and EZFLOW doesnt?

Hoping to get some clarification :)

Thanks for your time, I truly appreciate it!!

CND never yellows EVER

CND goes on flawlessly and crystal clear if the technician knows how to use it. CND trained techs do not see bubbles in their work. :eek:

Every acrylic in the world can have bubbles in it if the technician does not know how to work it.

I wouldn't pay too much about the "I've heard ...." stories when it comes to CND. :D Some people have their own agenda !! The reputation of CND stands out in the industry by miles and miles for good reason. I'd go with that if you are smart.

I completely agree with Geeg! I used Ez-Flow for years and no probs, I changed to CND because my distributor was not going to carry Ez-Flow any more. I love CND and, now that I've gotten some info from the distributor, I'm having great success. I was having bubble and lifting issues but it was just my ratios were off, now everything's fine.
If you only have the two salons to choose from I'd start with the one that uses CND and explain the types of problems you've had and that you've done your research and hopefully they will be hyper-vigilent. Just try to be careful how you word things, as people who train as much as we do tend to take great pride in it and can be offended if we think that someone is criticising us without proper knowledge.
As to the colors I do prefer the CND pinks, they seem to match more skin tones.
And hey, we're here to answer questions and help each other learn right? Good luck and if it doesn't work out you can always go to school to learn to do it yourself!
