Colour Gel

Hi

I bought my gel kit yesterday and in it were 2 lovely colour gels. We haven't gone over colour gels in college yet.

I'm thinking I'd have to use a clear gel first, the colour then finish clear. That way if I have to buff off there will be a clear gel underneath for me to leave the thin layer.

Is that right?

yeah..build a base with clear gel...then wipe and buff/file to shape leaving a 180 surface....then apply your colour...cure...another layer colour...cure...topgloss...cure...wipe and done.

Im my head I was going to file to shape after I put the colour on and before finish clear. Duh, that would have taken all my colour off. I feel so stupid.
