Coloured gels application

Hi,
I have notice when doing coloured gel I sometimes get a ridge on the free edge especially on my own nails. Anyone got tips to avoid this please.

What colour gels are you using.
I use Calgel.Try pulling the gel over the free edge rather than running the brush along from side to side to cap,(which can cause an unwanted build up) and then set it in the lamp for 10 secs before moving on to next one and then do a full cure when they have all been set.
Also make sure nails are completely dry of any pre cleanse and have had the shine removed on the free edge also.
Also putting a layer of clear first onto the nno and curing rather than just going straight onto the nail with colour stops the gel pulling back.
Just generally working quicker getting it on right in the first instance and not playing around too much with your gel eventually solves the problem too.
