Im new to this all so bear with me, looking through old forums and just wanted to ask some questions regarding commission. I have just started another part time therapist and want to set targets and commission schedule to keep her motivated.:Grope: Should this make any difference if she is part time. Any ideas of what way to implement it?

i am looking to put in a commission structure too so really glad you put up this thread - hopefully it will help us both!
One thing i do know is that a good therapist should take 3x her wage in treatments and 30% of that should equal retail.
hope that helps not confuses.

however, a good therapist should also be confident that her boss/manager is actually advertising the salon! I have been in a position where I had to advertise MYSELF even though I was on a flat wage/no comms! Never again will I spend MY TIME and MONEY for someone elses gain!

Maybe review what your part timers average is, and base a target on that? Say 30% higher for some comms?

good luck xx

hi i am confused as i have been told to put together a form with wage and comission structure on it. wage bit is no problem but what is the average comission people are getting
thanks

Hi

Usually its 2x wage then 10% over that, you could then add in say 3x wage get 20%. Its best to have a clear commission structure so your staff know what they need to achieve. Make it generic so they all have the same targets to start with.

Also give a retail commission: IE 10% of the profit or you could do a structure as in they have to sell £100 then they get 5% £200 they get 10% etc. It really depends on what products you sell and the mark up on them.

The fairer you are with your staff the happier they will be and so more productive. HTH

thanks for your help that makes sense.
thanks again
