Hey all,

Very new to this so be gentle!! LOL!

I would really appreciate some help though!!

Ive currently got 2 techs on an employed basis but Im about to take someone on, on a self employed basis working a few days a week and she wants to pay me commission on earnings, Im happy with this but shes left me to come up with a rate suitable!!

I'll be providing all products and all clients (she has alot of experience but has only recently moved to the area therefore doesnt have a client base)

So any tips on the figure I should be taking from her, also although shes self employed Im providing clients so will these be seen as the salon clients or her clients?

Any advice is much appreciated!!!!

:) xxx

why would you buy her product? That does right to me. She could wast and not thing twice about it. Plus what is she trained in? Not sure if i am off base here.

If she is self employed, they become her clients. As she is coming without a clientele, stock or equipment, you may want to review your decision.
Also there is potential for enormous problems from your employed staff.

I am in the US so things might be different......however, if she is self-employed, she should be providing her own supplies. I understand you helping her with clientele if she is new to the area, but I am with the others that you may run into problems with your other employees. I know the situations I have been in before, the commissioned employees received all the walk-in's and calls from new clients and were provided their supplies from the salon (they received 50%). The self-employed techs provided all their own supplies and did their own promoting and advertising for clients and they paid a rent and received all payments from clients. You situation sounds like she may be more of an employee of a salon rather than self-employed.
