Hi, I soaked off coloured gel from a client yesterday who has been wearing this same coloured nno for a few months and discovered she has onycholysis on all her nails. Would the gel I have used on her be contaminated now? Thanks for any advise Linda"

'onycholysis' is the term for seperation of the nail plate from the bed

This is caused by 'mechanical force' such as over filing, damage from too much length or from having something 'pierce' the hyponchium causing the seal to break and the plate to start leveraging off...

The fact that she has it on all of her nails means there could be medical or mental stress causing the body to be in bad shape... this would make it easier to damage from any of the above...

Onycholysis is not contagious, it is a trauma, so your gels are fine if this is indeed what she has.

hth's ;)

Thankyou :D
There was a lot of muck under there and she admitts to cleaning and gardening with no gloves and doesnt even dry her hands after washing them! She seems to enjoy illnesses if uknow what I mean a little highly strung lol. I had a little panic as I use the same colour gel on another lady who has a bit of nail separation on her thumb.
Thankyou so much for your reply
