I've been doing my own nails for a while now. I usually wear a square shape with a very straight free edge and sharp corners, but after a couple of days, everyday activities cause them to wear down and round out. I file them back into sharp edges, but there's only so much I can file off the tips until they become too narrow or short. Is this something I have to accept or is it a matter of the quality of the tips/acrylic I'm using?

Thanks for any advice!

I personally like that wearing down effect on clients after a few days. The dull edges are just a natural wearing of the nails. As far as I know there isn't anything you can do to stop this. I've never had a client come back for maintainance and still have sharp squares. I don't think it has anything to do with the quality of your products at all, My college ones used to do the same as my current ones. hth x x

i too use to wear my nail really square and i realised my right thumb use to wear away so quickly,i then realised this was due to me using it to txt on my phone, lol.
the only thing i use to do was i would build the corners back up using acrylic if they got really bad and out of shape otherwise i would just wait till i was doing a rebalance and re build the shape then
