Crushed Shells

I've only recently starting doing nails again after being away from it for 4 years and alot has changed, one being crushed shells.

I want to premix them with powder but what's the best to use with pink crushed shells, clear or pink powder?

I've checked threads and can't seem to find the answer to this question.

Hi I have been told that you pick up a bead of clear l+p and dab it into the crushed shell then place bead onto nail, then place a bead of clear over the top.
