Hi, I was wondering if anybody has experienced about the following:-

I was repainting my mums nails last night, I give her manicures once a month but last night was just a repaint. When painting I noticed that she does not have any cuticles at all, her fingers look really sore and dry all around that area, I noticed it once before when she had a reaction to the cuticle remover last time (its never happened before & I have not changed products), as I know remover is a little bit caustic, she did complaint that it was sore at the time. She has recently been diagnosed with psoriasis, she mentioned that the doctor during his examination checked her nails. I was under the understanding that psoriasis was pitting and motteling of the nail, which she has no evidence of. Her nails basically hardly ever get to a free edge as they seem to break really low down the nail. She never wears gloves when washing the dishes, which I always tell her off about but I don't believe that its simply because she washes the dishes without rubber gloves.

Has anybody any experience of the above, could it be psoriasis or the medication, she has has an underactive Thyroid, which she takes medication for, I know we cannot diagnose but I was just interested to know if anybody has had similar experience or any idea what the reason could be.
