My boss has some issues at the moment that are causing me issues;
- I am being blamed for requested appointments being moved because my boss keeps moving them. I saw him do it and kept my mouth shut for over a week with it.
- My boss is shortening full head foils for long hair from 1.25 hours to 45 mins and the processing time from 45 mins to 30 mins and a blow wave (even if its a difficult client) from 30 mins to 15 just because he wants to squeeze in more clients. I was told we are only allowed to to reduce the entire service by 15 minutes if we need to fit something in.
- We had a client last night that was getting extensions done but no color in between. So I had about 20 minutes to de-tape and re-tape a thick head of tapes. I would usually be able to do it because I am really quick with them. But during that time my boss made me shampoo 2 clients (because he doesn't like getting his hands wet. his words) and finish a straitening service (I haven't started school yet so all my training is in salon as of yet and the client actually coached me through how to it. I didn't ask but it was so unprofessional) and then I was possibly having to do a mens colour. Luckily the extensions were booked in wrong (by my boss again) and so the girl had 45 minutes of processing time after her blow wave. I managed to get the extensions done but I loss track of colour bowls, dishes, cleaning the salon and towels.
- Our dryer broke the other week. The dryer guy came out. It costs $99 for him to come out +up to 30 mins of work. I explained what the dryer was doing and how there was a lot of hair in a filter in the back so he pulled off the entire back with the knowledge I gave him and found this issue easily. Part of the dryer had wore to the point on non existence. This took all up 10 minutes. It was cheaper to buy a new one so we decided not to fix it. When the guy came to collect his pay my boss bitched him out saying his company was a rip off coz he was there for 5 minutes. This guy did his job and knew what was wrong.
We had a few tears last night in our salon after he left because he is over working us, disappearing, yelling at the stylists (he's sucking up to me a little though). We're losing clientele and are trying to keep this salon afloat. I don't want to leave because two of the other girls and I are putting in so much effort to keep this salon going but we are lost for what to do or how to even approach our boss.
