Hello all you deep tissue massagers out there!

I was taught to use talcum powder to massage deep tissue/trigger point massage. I've been practising away and find that my usual oil is fine, so wondered what you used and what your preference is.

thanks x :):!::idea:

Tui Massage Wax for anything and everything. Good enough for Premiership Football teams good enough for me!

Tui Massage Wax & Balmes

Mat

I use facial massage cream from Academie which is designed for the face:eek::eek::lol:....but i just love the way it lubricates to a good cosistency...:eek:

Otherwise i use massage cream from SBC:)

I use my ordinary oil and don't have any problems. I just use slightly less so that there's less slip.

thanks everyone, and I do have some tui na wax, I have the sports one.

Tui wax for me also! I love it as it never drys up but gives plently of grip! Great wax.

I use sweet almond or grapeseed oil, and some others when I do Aromatherapy, Peach Kernel, Evening Primrose, Jojoba (my friend likes coconut oil, normally only use that for Indian Head, but she loves it) etc, but the Tui waxes are great too, I use the foot balme for when I do Reflexology, has a nice grip and not slippy slidey. I don't like using talc or even cream, it's what you get used to x

yes but I was asking for deep tissue specifically.

Apologies for the tangent :)

I'm a sports massage therapist and just use standard oil. There are massage milks out there which I still use sometimes - baselin, chemoderm and naqi being the most common amongst sports therapists. I find if you just use a minimum amount of your normal stuff it'll be fine. I use a flannel for 'blotting' the skin if there's too much slip.

I found a heavenly product line from the professional beauty, called the sultan de salon. You can mix the oils ( which smell soooo nice ) with shea butter and this gives a good constancy and all my clients are now so convinced that this is the product line I should be using form now on...... and I do agree.....
